Apple’s 2nd-Gen Air Pods Max Not Under Works Yet But New Colors Might Be Available This Year: Report

Apple is not planning on giving a refresh to its famous AirPods Max headphones any time soon. However, we can expect to get some new colors available this year, according to a report from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

In his write-up that discussed AirPods and AirPods Pro, Gurman specifically highlighted that Apple is not expected to release an upgraded version of its AirPods Max headphones this year.

Still, it won’t mean that AirPods Max is not going to make any headlines as Gurman suggested that some new colors might be coming in.

“The last AirPods-related hardware introduction from Apple was the over-ear AirPods Max headphones in December. That $549 pair earned criticism for bugs and its high price but praise for its materials and sound. Apple only recently caught up with demand for the product, and it is not currently working on a second generation of the AirPods Max, though it has discussed launching additional color variations in the future.”

Currently, AirPods Max headphones are available in Silver, Space Gray, Sky Blue, Pink, and Green colors. So, it makes a lot of sense to introduce some new colors for the much-hyped headphones, and we did have rumors suggesting that some customization will be done to the headphones before they even shipped towards the end of 2020. So, is it time for Apple to do that now? Quite Possible!

Apple launched AirPods Max in December 2020 with a price tag of $549, so they are not cheap by any means. However, you do get a great sound from Apple’s premium headphones and it’s been in demand with the manufacturer already struggling to make sure the stocks are available for anyone who is ready to make a purchase.
