Google To Launch A Foldable Pixel Phone In 2021: Reports

According to reports, 2021 will see Google launching its first every foldable Pixel phone. There are rumors afloat that Apple is currently testing a foldable iPhone, but its launch will take at least a couple of years from now.

TheElec reported that Samsung is currently working on an OLED display that will be foldable and is expected to be used in the upcoming Google phone and other devices from Xiaomi and Oppo.

It is learned that while the latter two are planning to feature a screen that will be 6.38” in size, the Google Pixel phone is expected to be comparatively larger in size. All these devices are expected to fold inwards.

“Google, meanwhile, has requested Samsung Display develop a foldable OLED panel around 7.6-inch in size.”

There aren’t many details available other than this about Google’s work except that it will use a display from Samsung. However, the timeline for devices that are expected to launch this year might be a bit tight, and it’s the first time that we have heard something solid is about to arrive.

If Google is set to enter the world of foldable devices, Apple might also have to put together their plans on future foldable devices. And, if Google is actually going to launch a foldable Pixel phone later this year, we’ll surely get more news on it soon.
