During last week’s WWDC keynote event Apple announced its all-in-one iMac Pro which is directly aimed at the professionals. Though the newly announced desktop is not shipping right now and won’t be there until the end of this year, there are quite a few details that have been unveiled by Apple like the inclusion of AMD Radeon Vega graphics, power Intel Xeon processors, and a lot more.
iMac Pro is going to be shipped with 8,10 or even 18 core Intel Xeon processors. As said earlier, the new iMac Pro will be coming up with Radeon Vega graphics processors from AMD, giving you up to around 16 GB video memory. The graphics chips from AMD will also deliver around 11 teraflops with single precision computing power besides 22 teraflops with half precision computing power.
According to Apple, the new iMac can be configured to 128 GB 2666 MHz ECC memory, and strong state drives having around 4 terabytes of 3GB/s storage. As far as I/O is concerned there will be 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports besides that standard array of the USB-A ports. There will also be 10 GB Ethernet as well.
So, with all these great features, we are really up for a great new iMac coming by the end of this year. So, stay tuned until it’s out there.
