    What’s New In Sizes

    As far as the size is concerned, the new iMac line from Apple remains the same. We’ll still have that 21.5” iMac, 21.5” iMac having 4K Retina display, and 27” iMac having 5K Retina display.

    Better Brightness

    Both the 21.5” 4K Retina display as well as 27” 5K Retina display models will now come with screens that can offer better brightness. According to Apple, the display in both these devices offers 500 nits brightness making them the brightest ever display to ever feature in a Mac. They say it will now have 43% more brightness compared to previous models of iMac.

    • RAM: 8GB and 16GB available
    • Hard Drive: 256 GB SSD, 1 TB with 5400-rpm, or 1 TB Fusion Drive
    • Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 having 64 GB eDram

    21.5” 4K Retina Display iMac

    • Processor: 3.0 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 or 3.4 GHz Quad Core Intel Core i5 or 3.6 GHz Quad Core Intel Core i7 supporting Turbo Boost up to 4.2 GHz.
    • RAM: 8GB/16GB/32Gb
    • Hard Drive: 1 TB with 5400 rpm or 1 TB Fusion Drive. You can also have SSD Drive with 256GB or 512 GB or 1 TB storage space.
    • Graphics: Radeon Pro 555 having 2GB VRAM and Radeon Pro 560 having 4GB VRAM, both options available to choose from.

    27” 5K Retina Display iMac

    Thunderbolt 3

    New iMacs are expected to feature Thunderbolt 3 ports – also known as USB-C – at their back instead of older Thunderbolt 2 that previous models used to have. Apparently, there will be a couple of Thunderbolt 3 ports that will be adjusted right beside USB-A ports towards the back of new iMacs.
