As it appears, quite a few members of Fortnite community are actively searching for ways to bypass jailbreak detection that has been integrated into this popular game with the latest Fortnite 3.5.x version for iOS. Well, recently there’s been lots of chatter going around on different social media and it appears that we have some progress in this regard.
If you’ve been an avid fan of the Fortnite war game and love playing it on your latest iPhone or iPad, it means you have not jailbroken the device with Electra Jailbreak Toolkit and the entire furor might actually have passed by.
Well, Epic Games, similar to various other publishers, are not over joyous about gamers being able to access their environment through jailbroken devices with fear that they’ll be using modifications providing them with an unfair advantage over other players tactically. With that being said, the 3.5.x version came up with a better mechanism for jailbreak detection and can now kick out the jailbroken devices on their gaming servers in case of jailbreak detection.
According to Epic, the platform will become fairer for everyone by ensuring that everyone gets a level playing field. The argument from gamers will, however, be that all the gamers using jailbroken devices don’t actually do this for cheating in the games like Fortnite and that punishing them with the blanket ruling introduced by Epic would be unfair.
Well, no matter how things are perceived, it’s a fact that jailbreak detection now exists and we don’t expect any relaxation in that regard anytime soon.
Keeping it in mind, it’s a natural progression for people to simply try and figure out the exact way how jailbreak is being detected by Epic and then come up with a way to counter it. As it appears, efforts have already been started as a user named rzzer believes that he’s found that file being used by Epic for jailbreak detection:
Here we have a pastebin link to that file: https://pastebin.com/d31dzVa3
When you go through it you’ll see that there are some tweaks that I have such as Flex, Zeppelin, and TweakInjector. From that I can say it mostly checks out for stuff in /usr/lib/ and /Library/TweakInject
If you’re interested, here’s the directory for you:

Definitely, it’s a start but it may not result in any circumvention. It’s very much likely for jailbreak detection from Epic to be way more sophisticated compared to simply checking out a folder you have on your device for any files from tweaks that are installed commonly. Nevertheless, it’s just a start and it is quite reassuring for those legit jailbroken Fortnite gamers that somebody is there to tackle the challenge head-on.
