Some recent updates have been provided by CoolStar on how iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak has been progressing. The new jailbreak is expected to come as an update to Electra Jailbreak toolkit.
Along with the initial announcement from CoolStar that he got all the required components for creating iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak, it was confirmed that original Electra release had been kind of PR nightmare and it won’t happen again.
Now, as it appears, he’s doing the best he can to keep his promise by working more actively and staying more informative on Twitter and by ignoring those trouble-makers and the trolls as well. A lot of things have now been confirmed through the latest updates from him.
According to him, the 16GB iOS devices will still remain relevant as the jailbreak will offer compatibility for these devices; however, they might end up losing a fair amount of internal memory:
16GB devices can still be jailbroken…only with some additional storage to be consumed…
Then, he’s announced that he has made some more progress in this area and it would be possible to further improve the disk size:
Update: It might be possible to further lower the disk size for 11.3 jailbreak. Further research will be coming
All the mods other than things that have been installed from dpkg/apt/Cydia will get deleted at the time of reboot.
Most of the jailbreak detection forms won’t work anymore in the unjailbroken state (e.g. bank apps, Fortnite, etc.)
You might already be aware of the fact that Apple is still signing iOS 11.3 beta 5 even after closing the window for iOS 11.3.1. Now, CoolStar has confirmed that the upcoming jailbreak will offer support for those devices that have been downgraded to iOS 11.3 beta 5 as well.
Now, all that sounds great as far as the jailbreak community is concerned and it shows some decent progress with regards to iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak. CoolStar has not provided any kind of additional information about expected dates of release for new Electra version with the updates. However, we’re sure he’s working really hard and soon we’ll see a release ready for the public to exploit the jailbreak.
