As soon as the firmware exploit was found for PS4 5.00, the latest software version available, it only was the matter of time until PS4 5.00 jailbreak was done for gaming console. The same hacker, Luca Todesco, seems to have got complete kernel access now.

As it appears, this jailbreak that we are talking about here was achieved using public WebKit exploit that already exists, which was first introduced by Luca, and was aimed at finding a possible vulnerability inside the firmware of PS4. A photo has also been posted by Luca to Twitter and this seems to confirm it. However, it’s nothing to get too excited about as it won’t be offered for everyone else to try and the main reason behind is the motive to keep all the vulnerabilities secret.
Well, if Luca so decides to hold it back for protecting the exploit being used then the news may just be important to the community, and we’ll just keep thinking that the PS4 5.00 jailbreak came so near but still couldn’t be achieved. So, we can simply hope for yet another exploit to come around soon.
