Samsung To Sue Its Brand Ambassador From Russia For $1.6M Over Using iPhone X On Camera

It has happened many times in the past that some smartphone ambassador was caught using the devices from competing brands and it has happened once again as well. Whether it is Gal Gadot, the Wonder Woman star, sharing about latest Android phones using her iPhone or any other celebrity who might’ve fallen prey to this same mistake, it’s nothing new if somebody posts from their iPhones while they are actually publicizing a different smartphone from the competing Android brand.

However, this time around, Samsung has decided to take things a step further as it has decided to sue the brand ambassador from Russia for a whopping $1.6 million.

This Russian Brand Ambassador is actually the politician and host of a reality TV show from Russia Ksenia Sobchak. She’s supposed to publicly represent Samsung across Russia and her contract requires her to use Samsung phones and nothing else. The problem actually happened when she was spotted during a TV interview using an iPhone X device.

A report from Mirror suggests that this hasn’t happened first time either. Reportedly, Miss Sobchak has been seen on a TV, as well as some of major social events in Moscow – the capital city – while using an iPhone. No comments have yet been made by her representatives on this story.

Miss Sobchak ran the presidential elections in Russia against Putin earlier in the year and she is known more like a party girl. In fact, she’s dubbed as Paris Hilton of Russia as well. It is widely believed that she is the goddaughter of Putin but none of the two have ever confirmed that publicly.

So, even though the $1.6 million amount is far more than what Samsung had paid her for endorsing the brand, we still wonder how much must have been paid to her for not using an iPhone at all.
