If you have always wanted to have Kodi installed on your Apple TV 4K and tvOS 11, you have your wishes coming true now. It is now possible to sideload Kodi on the latest Apple TV. Here is how you can sideload install it on your new Apple TV.
Remember here that this guide doesn’t just apply to 5th-gen Apple TV 4K that is the latest in the market, but it also works with 4th-generation Apple TV 4 too. Above all,you don’t need any kind of jailbreak for installing Kodi on your set-top box.
Here are the steps that you need to follow for the installation.
- Firstly, you’ll have to connect or pair your Apple TV wirelessly to Xcodeon your Mac. The reason behind connecting your Mac and Apple TV wirelessly is that Apple TV 4K doesn’t feature USB-C port as was the case with previous generation Apple TV models. So, as soon as you have set up Xcode and Apple TV correctly, continue with the steps given below.
- Download Kodi 17.4 that offers Apple TV 4K support.
- Now that you have the Kodi .DEB file with you, you will have to generate its signed IPA file. Once you do that, sideload it to your Apple TV 4K with Xcode on your Mac. Don’t know how to sideload using Xcode check out our guide: Sideload Apps To Apple TV 4K Without Jailbreak Using Xcode. Just ensure that you use Kodi .DEB file that you had downloaded earlier.
- Once the sideloading is complete, go to the Home screen on your tvOS and you’ll be able to see Kodi icon there.
Launch it and start using Kodi on your Apple TV 4K, or on your 4th-gen Apple TV 4.
