The iPhone 16 series of this year may see a minor variation in the MagSafe alignment magnets relative to the earlier generations, as per the photos shared by French case organization ShopSystem.
The case crafting molds for the iPhone 16 series seem to indicate a slimmer design for the single alignment magnet and attachment ring magnet, compared to the similar molds for iPhone 15 series. According to the report, the Magsafe accessory producers might have to adjust their products to accommodate into the updated setup. However, this appears to be quite unexpected because any updated MagSafe platform will be most probably compatible with the older versions.
Assuming the slimmer magnets interpreted in these molds are precise, this is uncertain that there are further alterations to MagSafe in the forthcoming iPhone series which may expand to the battery system. As suggested by a rumor, the iPhone 16 series might see raised MagSafe charging rates with up to 20 watts support relative to the 15 watts present standard.
