How To Copy And Paste On MacBook Air/Macbook Pro Using Touchpad
Touchpad works a bit differently in Mac as compared to Windows and we can’t copy and paste by right clicking on touchpad in Macbook. First, you will have to select file or text that has to be copied. After that, click the selection that you have made and you’ll have to do that from the center of touchpad and make sure that you keep it pressed until you hear slight click.
Once you will do that, a pull-down menu will appear with different options. Select the appropriate option as needed and take the cursor to the point where you have to paste that copied text/file. Now again, repeat the same clicking process to reveal pull down menu and select Paste to complete the process.
How To Copy And Paste On MacBook Air/Macbook Pro Using Top Menu
Another option you have is to use top menu in OSX desktop for copying/pasting the text or file. Here, all you have to do is select the desired text/file and click Edit option that you can see on top of the screen. A menu will show up and you can select appropriate option for copy/cut the selected text or file.
Once it is copied, you will have to click Edit button once more in order to paste the copied text/file. Click Paste and the text/file will be pasted.
How To Copy And Paste On MacBook Using Extra Mode
Finally, you have the extra mode option for copy/pasting stuff on your Macbook. Wondering what this means? Well, it’s just the same drag/drop operation that you normally do in any other operating system. For example, if you have to copy some text from a document to another, just select some text and continue to drag your mouse with left mouse button pressed and after the selection just drag it to the other document. Now, as you will leave the mouse button, the text will be automatically pasted in desired document.
The same process works for files as well. You can easily drag files from a location on your Macbook to another. This is normally done for putting files in recycle bin. Remember, however, that this dragging process works as Cut/Paste rather than Copy/Paste and the original contents will disappear and will be moved to new location
