    How To Manage Apple Music Membership?

    Apple Music app allows you to access everything on the app’s catalog including songs, videos, playlists and everything else you can imagine. Your library is accessible on all your devices if you’ve signed into your Apple account on those devices and have turned on iCloud Music Library. When you sign up for the service, you have to choose an Apple Music membership from amongst several available options including individual, family and student memberships. There are monthly and annual Apple Music membership options available as well. However, once you’ve opted for a membership plan, there can be different things you can or may want to do in order to manage your subscription.     If you are not already familiar with Apple Music membership plans, there are several different options available. All the subscription plans give you access to entire catalog on Apple Music, but some differences still exist. Here is a brief description of each of them.

    • If you choose Monthly individual membership plan, you have to pay every month. However, if you choose annual plan then you have to pay for 10 months while enjoying the service for 12.
    • If you choose Family subscription, a group of six family members at most can get access to all Apple Music features and each of them can have Music Library of their own. It is also possible to join existing Apple Music Family Plans.
    • The student subscription plan allows students from degree-granting universities or colleges in selected countries to use Music app at discounted price for 48 months at most.

    How To Change Your Apple Music Membership Plan?

    It is possible to change your Apple Music membership or subscription anytime you may want to. Here are the steps that you need to follow for switching to any of the above mentioned membership plans as you like. Remember, however, there’s different process to follow depending on the device you’re using.

    1. Changing Subscription On iPhone, iPad and iPod

     If you are using an iPhone, iPad or iPod then follow these steps to change your Apple Music membership plan.

    1. Launch Music app and tap on ‘For You’
    2. Tap on Profile icon towards top right side of the screen
    3. Tap on View Account option at the bottom of the profile page. If your profile hasn’t already been set up then skip to next step
    4. Tap on ‘View Apple ID’. Here you may be required to provide your password or sign in using Touch ID
    5. Now, scroll down to Subscriptions section and tap on it
    6. Tap on Apple Music and reveal the options
    7. Select your desired subscription type from Individual (1 Year), Family (1 Month) and Student (1 Month) subscription options
    8. Confirm the selection you have made and tap back

    Remember, if you opt for a Student membership plan then you’ll have to verify your eligibility first in another window that opens up. Just follow the steps as prompted and validate your status as a student.

    If you are using a PC or Mac then follow these steps to change your Apple Music membership plan.

    1. Launch iTunes on your machine
    2. Go to Account menu on menu bar on top of iTunes window and select ‘View My Account’ option. Sign in using your Apple ID if prompted
    3. Scroll down to Settings section on Account Information Page
    4. In front of the Subscriptions click on Manage
    5. Click on Apple Music for revealing the options
    6. Now, in front of Options, select your desired subscription type from Individual (1 Year), Family (1 Month) and Student (1 Month) Verification Required subscription options
    7. Confirm the selection you have made
    8. Click Done

    Remember, if you opt for a Student membership plan then you’ll have to verify your eligibility first in another window that opens up. Just follow the steps as prompted and validate your status as a student.

    1. Changing Subscription On Apple TV

    It is possible to change your Apple Music membership on Apple TV (4th generation) or Apple TV 4Konly. Apple Music is not compatible with Apple TV (3rd generation and earlier). Here are the steps to follow for changing your subscription.

    1. Open Settings on your Apple TV and select Accounts
    2. In Subscriptions section, choose Manage Subscriptions option. Sign in if prompted
    3. You’ll now see a list of all your active subscriptions, select Apple Music from this list
    4. Now, choose your desired subscription type

    Remember here that if you want to switch to Student subscription plan then you’ll have to use a computer or an iOS device and follow the respective method as described above.

    Joining An Already Existing Family Membership

    If you have already joined some Family Sharing group with a Family membership plan then you’re good and should not join any other group or Apple Music membership for a family.

    However, if you’re on an individual subscription right now and are looking to join some existing Family group with a family subscription, here are the steps to follow.

    1. Ask group organizer to send you an invitation for joining the Family group they are managing
    2. Accept their invitation and join their Family group
    3. Once you have accepted their invitation, launch Apple Music app and check if you’re part of that group: Tap on ‘For You’ and then on Profile icon. Find ‘Manage Family Membership’ option under ‘Find More Artists & Curators.’

    Once you’re a part of Family membership within the Family sharing group, the individual subscription will be cancelled when upcoming billing cycle ends. You can revert back later, however, whenever you want.

    How To Cancel Your Apple Music Membership Plan?

    It is possible to cancel your Apple Music membership any time. However, the procedure may differ from one device to another. If the membership is cancelled during trial period, you will still be able to access the entire catalog of Apple Music until the day that you’d have topay for full price. Let’s get on with cancelling a membership.

    1. Cancel Membership On iPhone, iPad, iPod

    Here are the steps to follow if you want to cancel your Apple Music membership on any idevice.

     

    1. Launch Music app and tap on ‘For You’
