Soon after May 7th event of Apple, the company has just made iOS 17.5 RC available for download beside RC versions of visionOS 1.2, tvOS 17.5, iPadOS 17.5, watchOS 10.5, macOS 14.5and others.
As far as the changes in iOS 17.5 are concerned, most of the changes it contains are related to the iOS openness in European Union, including the ability for developers by which they can offer the option of sideloading their apps directly from their websites on iPhones in addition to third party app stores, new Apple Pencil pro references introduced today and iPad battery Health features with further adjustments.
While the iOS 18 is set to be announced at WWDC in the following month, it is unlikely for Apple to offer any big changes to any platform belonging to it during this particular time of the year, with the biggest announcements and features probably withheld for iOS 18 and releases of other platforms in the coming month.
Apple will possibly launch the final version of iOS 17.5, macOS 14.5, iPadOS 17.5, tvOS 17.5, HomePod 17.5, watchOS 10.5 and visionOS 1.2 in the following week.
Regarding those who are interested in installing the candidate seeds of today’s release, the registered candidates can participate in beta testing by navigating to Settings application on iPad or iPhone, then moving to the “Software Updates” portion, choosing “Beta Updates”, and activating the iPadOS17 or iOS 17 developer beta option, and then the OTA update can be downloaded from there.
